Matt: Of course.

Anzac Day! Spending this day in our hometown Newcastle with family. Also, have just started reading "The Anzacs" by Patsy Adam-Smith - a classic account of Australia's involvement in the First World War.

So today we got to do something a little different, after checking out the website UCamp, we organized to stay on one of the available camping sites at Dooralong. A lovely little farmhouse close to Westfield Tuggerah and the freeway, but far enough away to feel like a genuine retreat! Ducks, chickens, a lovely pond and a great grassy area with a camp fire! What a pleasant side trip!

A little beauty of a camp site last night, trying out our new swag! Crosslands Reserve at Berowra Valley National Park, near Galston Gorge. A lovely little place!

A bit of fun today! Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre, with all the school holidaying kids, and my own big kid Matt!
Matt: What about the spider exhibition. That was cool. However your reactions suggested otherwise.

Our campsite of choice in Mount Kosciuszko National Park is Geehi Hut Rest Area, along the Alpine Way. What a beautiful place to be! Visit to the Snowy Hydro Murray 1 Visitor Centre, which is a really fascinating insight into the construction of one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects.

Tallangatta is a fantastic spot, right near the Hume Dam. There is a brilliant Rail Trail that follows the dam all the way back to Wodonga. We pulled out the bikes and rode some of this today, the scenery is magnificent! Another treat today was the Bonegilla Migrant Experience, you can read more about this in the coming months. First camp fire tonight for the trip, it’s getting chilly!
Matt: What about all those messages in the Quiet Room. Awesome.

Today we spent a lovely day in the town of Albury, right on the border of NSW and Victoria. This little town has a great history and plenty of shopping. If you go into the Information Centre you can get a map for a self guided walking tour of the town – it really is great when these are on offer, they are always worth the effort to see more of a charming town such as this and learn more about the history and important sights. Of course, I was keen to get to Albury to see their new fixture, the Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA), and enjoy their current Marilyn Monroe exhibition! Love all things Marilyn, so this was a real treat. The Albury Library Museum is also a gem, they have some great art exhibitions, and is well worth the visit.

Huge day today! Still heading towards Albury Wodonga, stopped in at Benalla for some ceramic mural fun, then over to Shepparton. Then of course when in the area, a visit to Glenrowan for some Ned Kelly time is a must. This is a lovely little historic village, where we checked out the museum, and also did their great historic walk around the town. Although we had intended to stay in Wodonga, due to unforeseen circumstances we ended up staying the night at Tallangatta showground, which turned out to be a bonus!

Heading to Albury Wodonga. Stopped into Euroa, where we got the bikes out after lunch on the creek and rode around town. Checked out Seven Creeks Hotel and discovered that the picturesque little town has a great Bike Trail, which is a great way to explore the history and highlights.
